Meet the Founder & Editor
Hi, I’m Abby Shoen, the owner, editor, designer, photographer, writer, essentially the entire creative engine behind All Things Home. If it lands in the magazine, I’ve had my hands on it. Creating beautiful, engaging content is what I’ve always loved, and this magazine is my way of bringing that passion to life for our community.
I’ve been “artsy” for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I was the one constantly sketching, crafting, rearranging my room, and turning every school project into an excuse to design something. That creative pull eventually led me to graphic design, writing, and publishing. I built my skills through hands-on experience, countless late nights, and a genuine love for storytelling through visuals.
Over the years, I’ve produced magazines, developed brands, designed websites, conducted photoshoots, and worked with businesses across the Midwest to bring their ideas to life.
All Things Home is a blend of everything I love—homes, design, DIY projects, photography, storytelling, and celebrating the creativity of everyday people. This magazine shines a spotlight on real homes and real stories from our region, and my goal is to make each issue feel beautiful, inspiring, and true to who we are.
Whether I’m styling a shoot, interviewing homeowners, designing layouts, or writing an article, this magazine is my heart project from beginning to end. I’m grateful you’re here, and I hope All Things Home brings inspiration, warmth, and a sense of community to your day.
